Braidek Family Page

This page is to give us another mode of communication. While some of us do phone and e-mail, we don't always hear those snippets of day to day life. This way, we can share a brief coment or reaction, or share news with everyone at once. The idea is to have fun.

News from T.O.

Hi Everyone, I am so glad you started this Carla it will be fun to connect with everyone.
It is late in the afternoon and the rain has been on and off since early this morning. All of the kids, ours and 1/2 of Nikki's arrived home from camps today. Jaime has been working as a counsellor this year and loving it, she is finished now and sad to not be seeing everyone she has worked with for the last month. Shaina has just returned from the music camp she and Nathan attended for a week and that was a sad farewell as well. Nathan is already looking ahead to next year when he'll see the fellow music campers again. Keegan did a wilderness camp this year and they had rain last week on their out trip so he's actually happy to be home and dry. Once they sleep off the camp exhaustion tonight it will be interesting to see what 4 teenagers can get up to...........................I'll report back later in the week :-) Cheers, Sinda

Northern lights

Driving home to Saskatoon from Whitefish last night I saw the most amazing northern lights, they were dancing green and pink across the entire north-eastern sky. It reminded me yet again how much I miss the counrty and antisipate moving out of the city when I'm finished school (or perhaps before)!!!

Flashbacks in Clearwater

Garry and I found time yesterday to plant a few trees up in the pasture. We had a little help. Summer and Aaron (another grandson, one of three, courtesy of Clayton) were with us for the day. So we went and picked up Dawson also, stuffed them all in the back cargo space of the little gray Toyota 1/4 ton and went out to the field. I must say it took me back about 25 years. We even had a small picnic of watermelon and muffins and played a little catch and soccer. Summer was a little frustrated with the tall grass, which was up to her chin. When we finally recued her with a piggyback ride, she kept saying "I want to be big." in a very mournful tone. Soon enough.

from Saskatoon

Hello All.
This is an interesting idea, I really feel as though I must be very with the times to be blogging!! Things are fine here, though a touch on the hot side. This summer has actually been a bit of a treat because it is the first one about 10 years that I haven't been working full time++. Its great to have some time to spend with the kids, especially since I head back to class in one month and 15 days (yes, I'm counting)! Two of Clayton's boys have been visiting this week so we have been busy checking out the city parks and pools. Summer loves having her brothers around to play (and fight) with. Well I should be going, I hope this works to keep us all in touch with each other. take care, Meadow

From the Farm

The following comments are straight from the horse's mouth.
"It's been really hot for a week now. The water trough is getting a little slimey and I sure would like some fresh rich grass. (and fewer mosquitoes)"
I planned well though and had some days off to attend a poetry workshop in Moose Jaw and enjoyed one day of the Festival of Words while there. I'm back at work now and must say I'm glad to hear it's supposed to be cooler tomorrow.
