winter?

I was out on my little belcony today and noticed that the neighbors are visible again. During summer monthes we are surrounded by a lovely leafy camaflage, but I'm afraid its laying on the ground now. Does this mean that winter is coming? I guess it does. I can't believe that there is less than a month left in October. The seasons sure do fly by!

Solid Ground once Again

Thanksgiving was like Christmas this year. I got a great gift. There were enough people home, with enough energy, and good weather for us to repair the deck. This deck has had very little care and attention over the years. Lately, it felt like I was tempting fate to stroll across it casually. I kept a sharp eye out for weak spots and holes. And for someone larger than myself...well, it was a small miracle we weren't having to rescue someone from the darkness below (which could be a very scarey place). Not only were boards removed and replaced and joists reinforced, but the ramp was levelled and given not only a handrail but a new walking surface which is much more grippy than the previous slimey-when-wet boards. Needless to say, I go dancing out there every opportunity I get. Thanks to all involved. To the rest of you - come try it out. I'll put the music on.

well I'm at school killing time while I wait for the audio visual guy to get back from lunch. I need a camcorder for a project I'm working on...I was planning to get the thing and be done with it by about 1 oclock but of course things don't happen in real life like they do in your head!! This is something that I've been adapting to my whole life and am finally coming to terms with(I think)!
I'm looking forward to the weekend and seeing Carla. Summer is up at Garry and Carla's for a visit too and I really miss her already!! later!

Finally remembered my pass word ! Flew into the crisp prairie air a couple of days ago to have a very quick visit with family before attempting a drive through the mountain ranges with an old dodge RV. I'm taking a friends RV back to the island so here's hoping for good weather and fun times! When I arrive home I will be busy studying to write my acupuncture board examinations this coming Nov. Scary! I had a great season doing massage therapy up at the lodge this year but I'm also glad to be home in the city. Looking forward to doing some city things and spending some time with friends.

carla is starting to put pressure on the family to use the family blog so here goes. winter is trying to sneak up on me, the weather is staying warm and the days are feeling like early fall. as usual i end up with a million things (chores) that need to be done before the snow flies and i go into temporary shutdown for about 4, 5 or 6 months. it's a good thing that the only chore that really matters is the firewood to keep us warm and everything else is easily forgotten once the snow covers it. though i do hope that the weather holds and i can get a few more things accomplished. we have been having a pretty good year at home and at the greenhouses. lots of family visiting and we've managed to take some time off from work and travel abit. carla and i enjoy getting away on the bike and hanging out together. it would be nice to hear whats happening around the rest of the country. bye for now....garry

Rechelle

Well big Sis Rechelle breezed through town last night. she flew in from Vic yesterday and left again today, but it was sure nice to see her. We weren't expecting her to be in these parts until Christmas. I'm back in clinical this week. my placement is on a very busy surgery ward in St. Pauls Hospital, high stress but a great place to learn. Hope everyone is well. Anyone who is reading this and not posting ought to start posting, and encourage others to do so as well!!
